Issue
When you used the wblock command to block out a drawing or part of a drawing, you received the following (or similar) error message:

Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xffffff8 Exception at 655b4a95h

Solution
This issue can be caused by a corrupt Windows Registry or missing registry keys. To correct the problem, reset the value for MRUPathListItemCount to 0.

This value can be found in the following location (this location may vary based on your profile name):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.0\ACAD-5001:409\Profiles\<>\Dialogs\write_block_dialog\
